Our Story
Hello there,
Thank you for coming to read about our story. Ida and I have been together for 8 years (9 years when we do get married).
It was kinda hard to put together a story that was worth reading, while not oversharing.
We have been so lucky to not only have each other, but also amazing people (like you).
I wish I could tell you the full story of us, including everyone we love, but that’s a story better told in person.
For now, we’ll just have to settle with a quick recap of some of our milestones.
— Devin
It all started in college at four in the morning.
A month in, we got some mussels and frites.
A year in, we started meeting family.
July 5, 2016
May, 2017
We stargazed for the first time together.
Ida graduated and moved to San Francisco.
We survived long distance.
July, 2019
Trained and ran a half-marathon together.
A pandemic gave us plenty of time together.
And, we moved in together.
August, 2020
And had so much time that we got a dog.
We learned so much about dog training.
November, 2021
Went on a south-west road trip.
Moved in with Devin’s parents for a hot sec.
Moved back to SF into the apt we’re in now.
July, 2022
We got engaged in Half Moon Bay.
(s.o. to Devin’s sisters for helping with that.)
June, 2023
Bought our first car.
Had our first car totaled.
Bought the same model car, but in blue.
And now, we’re getting married!
July, 2025
Looks like you’ve made it all the way to my section! Devin’s taken up all the space on this page, so I must keep it short.
Our relationship started on July 5th, 2016 after a 4am adventure in Pittsburgh to find a friend some late night Red Bull (such is college).
It’s been an almost-decade of us. We’re now in San Francisco, living with the best husky-bulldog there ever was. We do musical theater duets before bed, determinedly make one player video games couch co-ops, and happily eat breakfast for dinner.
It’s so exciting to continue our story with a wedding this summer where you all will get to celebrate with us – see you then! :)
